On Saturday, March 29th, we had eighteen entries in Pastorale. Outside room 122, there were many students who were very nervous. It was their first time to play in a contest, but we had many superior ratings. I am very proud of all of you who played.
Now, the next event is the Greater Southwest Music Festival in Amarillo on May 9. There will be 12 students going to perform that day. After that, we have our recital on May 23rd.
Watch for a report this week on our theory scores. They are here and I will let you know as soon as I find out our ratings.
Rachael entered the publication contest, wrote a wonderful poem about Chopin. She received an "excellent" rating. She is the first entry from Lubbock in a few years, and I know she will keep trying to surpass the Dallas area entries.
