I hope each and every mother who reads this blog has a happy day. Most musicians wouldn't be very important if it weren't for the support of their mothers. I can tell you that my mother( and daddy) gave up a lot for me to take piano lessons. We lived in the country and on my lesson days, Mother would drive in to town to pick me upfrom school for lessons. Many recitals were attended by my mother and she made most of the dresses that I wore. Back in those days, we usually wore formal attire and that was a big deal. I am sure I was never the real star of the show, but my mother made me feel like I was the star. I am thankful for my mother and her continued support for what I do.
Our recital is now in the countdown stage. Friday night we will have a photo booth starting at 5:00. Bring your friends and family and have your pictures made for $5. Dress nicely. The recital will start at 6:00 and when we finish, there will be awards and refreshments that you generously supply. I will bring punch and ice, but need someone to volunteer the cups, napkins, plates and whatever goodies that might be enjoyed. Much is going of that evening. I hope you will find time to show your children that they are important and you support their efforts.
Summer letters were due on May 11. I am still waiting to hear from a few. Don't wait too long. See you Friday at 801 Slide Rd.
