All of us are getting ready in various ways to start a new school year. As I watched the Olympics, I thought to myself about all the things that go into making an all around athlete. The swimmers are seldom good gymnasts, and the runners are rarely good at every track and field event. In music, we also have many areas to excel. Each one of us have areas in which we do better than others, however, when we put it all together, it makes for a successful musician.
One thing all of us need is for someone to give us praise in our work. We generally do better when someone, either friend or family, tells us we are doing a good job. We are not always at the top, but if a goal is set, working hard is easier.
In the next three weeks, my website will be brought up to date and a new studio policy will be implemented for this year. Changes are happening, including opportunities for rewards for hard work. If you are not a regular subscriber to my blog, I strongly suggest you add that to your list, otherwise, you will not know what is going on.
I appreciate all the students who have worked so hard this summer. Fall will be much easier with no transition. If you did not take lessons, it is probably time to start getting in shape.
