This is the first normal day of 2013 for me. I have taken down all Christmas decorations and my brain is now tuned in to what we have in store for the next few months of piano.
LESSONS START JANUARY 7, 2013. If you call me and tell me you forgot, that won't work. I have it posted on several calendars that you are supposed to see.
Start the year off by bringing all your materials. Check the assignment book to be sure you have done at least the tiny holiday assignment by the time you return. Below, I am going to list some important dates:
Jan 7-11 resume lessons, select a sonatina to learn
Jan 16 deadline to enter the Jazz, pop, rock recital (only if you are SA member)
Jan 18 deadline for 2nd theory exam
Jan 18 deadline for sonatina festival
Jan 21-25 Be sure to have music selected for March 30th festival
Jan 26 Jazz recital
Feb 4 deadline for ensemble tryouts
Feb 7 deadline for World of music
Feb 16 Sonatina festival at Texas Tech
Feb 23 ensemble tryouts
Feb 21 Wee folk recital deadline grades 1-3 and only SA members
Feb 23-24 Whitlock theory test
Okay, now I am exhausted and stressed. I need to find the last of the fudge. By the way, our March festival does not have an official name. Since my daughter and I are co-hosting this festival, we have thought of 2 possibilities. Her last name is Barron, so we thought----BarKing, but I read it as "barking". Might not work.
Then we used the parts of our first names and came up with Whitlin. Somehow, that does not work either. Help us come up with a good title. It is worth 5 stars if your are chosen.
