Recital Coming in 25 Days

Does that title make you realize how few days we have left of school?  The end of May always gives me a feeling of celebration.  Some of you are moving, graduating, planning huge vacations, or small trips.  No matter what your plans, the end of a school year gives you a feeling of satisfaction and relief.
Last week, most made firm plans for their recital songs, either with current contest pieces or with new material.  There are 7 students working on the ensembles to play at the music convention in June.  There is always something going on around here.  Parents see accomplishments during the week and I hope we can always remember to compliment the students as they go up the learning ladder.  It is not always in performances.  Sometimes achievements are made in theory and technical skills. Learning about composers and their lives is important to understand their music.

Trivia:
How many octaves did the piano have when Beethoven wrote early songs?
When was the piano invented?
Since keyboards have become so popular, do you think the piano will die away and lose importance?
Your complete explanation of this answer could bring you a surprising number of stars.

Be sure to check your email this week.  The summer and fall letter was sent to you.
