My thoughts:
I hope if you know someone who regrets stopping lessons, you will pass this along. I am amazed at how many people say, "Oh, I took lessons, but I hated to practice, so I quit." I have people in my own family like that. I am thankful, beyond words, that my mother and daddy saw that it was important. We had very little money and it was a burden, I am sure. Sticking to anything is important. We live in a culture where the instant everything is prevalent. We can change channels to hundreds of different ones, play many games, and are exposed to so many things in our daily lives. In music lessons, it is focus that counts. Even if you never plan to do anything except enjoy your music, that is worthwhile. If you took lessons as a child, consider picking up the skill again. It is not like riding a bicycle. You have to concentrate and practice, but the benefits outweigh the frustration.
