Spring is in the Air

Just a few days until spring break. I am ready too.  No lesson during the week of March 13-17.
Thank you, Jacob and Chloe, for your performances at the Wee Folk Recital Saturday. I was very proud of you.

Parents, check with your kids to see if they have their 2 songs for the Spring Festival on April 22nd. Some students are hard workers and some think they can slide by.  This is a time for real growth in learning if you take advantage of it.
Also, the duet and trio recital is April 29th. I would like to see at least 5 groups do this. You would see how much fun you can have. You have to be Student Affiliate members to do this event.
On another note: In case you haven't noticed, I do not typically listen to the "in" music and I am not starting now. Some students have asked for songs they hear on the radio. I am not going to teach that style of music when there are actually good songs to be learned. There will be no Katie Perry, Lady Gaga, Adam Levine, One Republic, etc. purchased by me. Yes, I teach popular music, but if the lyrics are not acceptable(by me) then they are out. Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and their associates are welcome here. I love it when culture is discovered and today's pop music is not the culture I gravitate toward and I hope you can understand.
