When I look at the calendar and see how quickly we will have the end of April, it is frightening.
Many of you took the "big" test last week and probably feel as though you have the year almost completed. Seven students played their ensemble this past weekend to see who would go to the TMTA convention in June. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday there will be 9 going to GSWMF in Amarillo to perform pieces to be judged. With all that, there is still our own recital on May 18. I really am proud of the work that most of you do for me. You have good attitudes, a willingness to do what I ask you to do, and leave me with a feeling that I am contributing something to your lives. I hope I am not contributing a lot of stress. When you come for lessons this week, play your song by memory. We will both be relieved.
I found this quote the other day and you might like it too:
"A great teacher is one who realizes that he himself is also a student and whose goal is not to dictate the answers, but to stimulate his students creativity enough so that they can go out and find the answers themselves."
