That blog title is mind boggling. I haven't seen many months that are so filled with important events. All of them will affect students. Some of you think that my mind is totally wrapped around theory. You are pretty accurate. I do not like being confused or stumped about anything. If you are taking the test, please be careful and well-prepared.
On the days when I have students who are preparing for the hymn festival, I usually fill very peaceful. Most of you are doing a great job and learning music you may not have played before. I wish everyone could enjoy the music that Bryson, Karli, Kaci, Bethany, Sharayah, Kaleigh, and Hannah are playing. All of these are level 8 students and are preparing 6 selections for the judge. Much preparation has gone into their work and it shows.
Thanksgiving will come right after the hymn festival. It caused me to think about all the travel and guests we will expect at Thanksgiving. Please look at this site: http://www.npr.org/blogs/deceptivecadence/2011/11/18/142472836/turkey-cranberries-and-composers-at-the-table
There are interesting composers and music to enjoy. Composers are quite interesting characters. Imagine having dinner with the Bach family and his 20 children. His family probably had a very hectic schedule. If I could choose a composer to invite to Thanksgiving dinner, I would invite - - - - - - - - - - - -. He lived to be 70 years old, won 20 grammy awards and was known for his calm personality. Tell me his name and 5 songs he wrote. That will earn you 3 stickers. If you can guess my favorite song he wrote, it will earn another bonus sticker. (By the way, both Bethany and Ashley should receive enough stickers this week to qualify for their first gift card. I can predict they won't stop at one either.)
Everybody work hard!! Recital is also going to be here before we know it.
