Fabulous Fall Atmosphere

The season of Fall has excitement at every turn.  Whether you are in to football or festivals or corn mazes, the season brings excitement and anticipation for what is ahead.  I listen to some of you talk about the activities you do,  and it amazes me that you can get it done.  I am very proud that you are making music part of your educational journey.  There are lots of bumps in the road to prevent an easy trip, but if you hang in there, it will be rewarding.

Be sure to check the Wall of Winners and know your competition.  Some are doing the practice challenge for 1500 minutes by December 9th.  I also notice more names from Lubbock on the high score board for musiclearningcommunity.com.  I hope you consider me a cheerleader for you as you accomplish a tough goal.

The deadline for Whitlock theory is October 4. That makes me know we have to get busier with our work.  Never ever let your theory sit undone.  We have to stay on top of it.

Trivia:
Probably the most popular piece for the fall is "In the Hall of the Mountain King".  All levels can play this piece because of great arrangements. I have always had a picture of what the mountain king looked like, but I was wrong.  Peer Gynt, the main character in this opera, visited the troll underworld and was chased by the mountain king.  According to Norwegian legend, what was his name and what did he look like.  Read about this character and it will change your opinion of the song.
Worth 2 stars.
