I have discovered that certain things in my life can present challenges. Some of them are good and fun. I am willing to take on those challenges. The problem is that some challenges are hard and do not seem like fun when I begin. One example of a challenge that seems difficult is exercising every day. My reaction is that I can't do it; I do not want to do it; and why would I want to do it? I have watched the "Biggest Loser". The contestants cry and throw fits, but when all is finished, they have completed their challenge and see the results. It has been worth the effort.
This reminds me a little of piano practice. Everyone want to sound amazing, but it is hard to put in the effort required to be terrific. I saw for myself last week that some students got excited about the practice challenge I gave. Tomorrow will begin our second week. If you are still participating, your name will go on the chart so everyone can see that you value your musical education. Playing piano is serious work and only the tough can succeed at that activity. It takes dedication, drive, desire, and determination to accomplish a worthy goal. Never give up!
Please be very sure that you have told me whether you are joining Student Affiliate this year. I pay that fee this week and we want to be sure we are not late.
Trivia question for this week: What name did Bartholomew Cristophori, inventor of the piano, give to the instrument?
