We are rapidly heading toward the busiest season of the year. Sometimes it is easy to lose focus and forget why we do what we do. Last week one student was having a "melt down" because he felt like practice took up his free time. Here is a segment my daughter sent to me:
After you watch this, remember how very fortunate you are to have the instruments you have. If we had less, we might be more grateful for every little thing.
Thank you for the 28 students who participated in the Hymn Festival on Saturday and Sunday. There were 24 Superior ratings and 4 Excellent ratings. Bryson, Karli, Kaci, and Bethany played in the recital at Oakwood Methodist Church yesterday afternoon. Many students are learning hymns, and that is nice to hear.
What can you expect in the next 4 weeks? No time to let down and relax.
1. Finish the 1500 minute or 100 day challenge by December 9th
2. Prepare for the recital on December 14
3. Decide whether or not to participate in the sonatina festival and contest for February
4. Begin to select music for the spring festival
5. Double check the calendar for other events you plan to do, like original composition, jazz recital, etc.
No trivia for this week.
