After another busy weekend, I see the next hurdle to jump. On Saturday, November 9, there were many students from grades 1-12 involved in the Whitlock theory test. I heard huge sighs of relief as students walked out of the testing areas. The whole experience was better this time due to less waiting for the ear training. Now, we will wait on the scores to come back.
Our next event is this Saturday, November 16. We have the Hymn Festival at Oakwood Baptist Church on 60th and Ave. U. Students have been preparing 2-6 hymns to play for judges. The level 8 students have a big responsibility and have been preparing since summer. There are 28 planning on participating on Saturday. Please double check the schedule for your time.
We are less than one month away from the end of our 1500 minute challenge. I believe that some of you have seen big improvements in your practice. The whole idea was to make you accountable for your own achievements. As long as you followed the rules given, you should be seeing improvement. Proven records are due to me on December 10th. I need signed and documented proof for all practice times in order to be eligible for the awards.
Our studio recital at Redbud Baptist Church is on Saturday December 14th at 1:30 p.m.
Trivia:
What is a hymn? When are where is there evidence of the use of a hymn?
