In the next few weeks, we will all be doing things that are slightly unfamiliar. some will take the theory test on Saturday. The Hymn festival is November 16th and then one month later, we all have our recital. I want you all to know that sometimes you can plan and practice and there may be something unexpected happen. Be prepared and don't let anything shake your confidence.
Last weekend, during the All Boys Recital, there were unexpected events. For some reason, the piano stool was not in its regular place. That was unexpected! The first 3 performers didn't know what to do, so they played standing up. It was not their plan, but what else could they do? Next, a few performers forgot to thank their audience's applause by bowing. That was unexpected? Are you able to take an unexpected happening and make it a happy moment? Who knows what circumstances might come your way at any moment during your day. Be ready. Be prepared. Know who to ask before something surprises you. Here is a quote I found:Remember that life will always throw the unexpected at you. You’re not always going to have step-by-step instructions or a model to follow that will tell you how to deal with it. Instead, the best preparation you can have for life is to cultivate a genuine love for yourself along with a healthy sense of self-worth, nourish relationships with those that can support and encourage you, and live life to its fullest each and every day without fear of loss or failure.
If you are a test taker this weekend, make sure your last practice test is complete when you come to lessons. No one should be in doubt about Saturday.
Trivia: Tell one situation where you had to handle a difficult and surprising situation.
( Here is one I had when I was in third grade. I was a very shy little girl, and we had to announce our songs and composer at our recital. I was playing a very classical song, but couldn't remember the composer. We had been studying Francis Scott Key and his contribution to the "Star Spangled Banner." I knew most people knew his name, so I just changed a little. He became Scott Key. No one said anything about it, and I avoided being speechless.)
