Deadlines are Every where and They are Important

I do not know why I send emails.  Hmmm, they are often ignored.  Every event has a strict deadline and missing it is very serious.  Today I sent emails to 3 groups:  Jazz recital participants, Spring theory test takers, and sonatina festival and contest participants.  If you THOUGHT you were participating and didn't get an email, call me ASAP.  There are important dates that I pay attention to.

Last week, our first week of the new year, was very rewarding to me.  Some received new keyboards or pianos or music.  Some had places that they performed at Christmas. I loved seeing you come back with excitement and a smile on your face.  Only one person, yes, only one, was not eager to return to work.  That person came in with a sad face, hadn't practiced, had nothing to share about the days off, and was about as excited as a dead fish.  It almost ruined my day, but.....then I had some students come with so much to share they were unable to contain themselves.  You can make piano fun or kill the joy.  It is all in your attitude.

Next, be sure to check your music bags.  Did I say bag?  Uh huh.  You should have all your music in a bag and be responsible. Check your assignment book to make sure that you have everything.

Finally,  2 students participated in the Original Composition Contest in December.  They each wrote their own song.  35 from Lubbock entered.  One of our group placed third in the contest.  He doesn't know it yet, so this is an announcement.  Connor, you placed third!!!!!  Yahoo, good for you!
