Celebrate the Diversity of February

We are half through with the month  of February and it has been filled with change.  It seems we have had the craziest weather ever.  I really have enjoyed the weather of this weekend, and prefer it over the freezing temperatures we had a week ago.

Yesterday, the Sonatina Festival and Contest was held at Texas Tech.  These students received superior ratings:   Katie, Charis, Kaitlynn, Jonathan, Caden, Gabriel, Almai, Ashley, Bryson, Carson, Ryan E.,Ria, and Arjun.  Two students received superior plus ratings:  Adrienne and Marc.  One student received superior plus plus and a plus beside every criteria: Kier.  Bethany played for contest.
I am very proud of the hard work students did for this event.

Next Saturday, Charis, Bryson, Kanan, Kenzi, Jonathan G, and Connor will take the Spring theory test.  This is very important too.

There is another Student Affiliate activity to enter in February, but the event takes place March 22nd.
That is the Wee Folk Recital for students in Grades 1-3.  I have asked several about their interest, but I need the okay from parents.

Most students have selected one or both of their songs for the April 5th Festival involving almost every student in my studio.  If you have no idea what I am referring to, contact me immediately. This event takes place at Redbud Baptist Church on that Saturday morning.

Thank you all for reading this newsletter and staying informed and keeping me on my toes. I am pretty sure that by next week we will have another weather change, but it keeps us alert.

Trivia:  what year did President's Day begin and why was it changed?
