This weekend, May 17th at 1:30, there will a group of you performing for Ventura Place Retirement Center.
I am so happy that even the ones who plan to be in the main recital are going to this recital too. I believe there will be a pretty good group planning to attend.
Several students will be moving in the next two weeks, others will graduate and our group of students will change. This is always an emotional time for me because I grow attached to you and your families. Occasionally, I hear from students from "long ago". It is nice to hear of success stories and adventures that I can have through their eyes.
Remember, our main recital for May 24th will be at Redbud Baptist Church at 1:30. As usual, we will have a small reception after the recital. I would really like to know if you would be able to bring any sort of refreshments to that before the 24th. If you have questions, I will answer them.
Another reminder: the summer/fall letter is due this week. If you are not able to print it off, let me know. I will give you a copy. This past week I had 3 calls requesting lessons times for the summer so they would be able to continue in the fall. My current students always get preferential treatment if their letters are in my folder.
How many of you had family living in Lubbock when the tornado in 1970? I was a first year teacher, living on Ave S. when it occurred. I was watching T.V. If you can name the program I was watching at 9:00 p.m. when the tornado blew Lubbock away, you will get a big surprise.
