Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb atree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." Even successful musicians come in all varieties. It depends upon the skills you bring and also upon the amount of work you use to develop your skills.
I noticed that last week most of you worked very hard on your assignments. You may be thinking, " Ha ha, I fooled that piano teacher. She can't even tell when I practiced or not." That's where you are wrong. I am not deaf and I am not unaware. Some of you work on only one song. Well, maybe you really like ONE song and played it over and over. Hey, that's practice! Do the best you can with the time you have. Noone can stare at the music and expect it to sound great. That would be like me staring at my car and just wishing I was going somewhere. I have to put all my efforts into getting to the location I need to go.
Now, for some information you may want. Theory tests that were taken in February are here. The two people who took World of Music Quizzes both will receive medals. If you have considered going to the Greater southwest Music Festival in Amarillo on May 4th, the deadline is April 15th. I must know your intentions sometime this week. I am not sure I I will be able to go too, but I will make sure you are registered if you plan to perform.
April is a happy month. Other than December, I like it best. I hope this month is very profitable and productive for your music skills. Work hard and the whole experience can be rewarding.
