Yes, We Celebrate Presidents' Day with Piano

I know some of you do not have school tomorrow, but we do have piano classes as usual. It was a good weekend for the group who participated in Sonatina Festival.  Lee, Samuel, Ryan  E, Kier, Bethany, Sharayah, Bryson,  Katie, Nithin, Arjun, Charis, and Jonathan all received superior ratings.  Good job! Your hard work paid off.  Next weekend, the theory test takers will show what they have learned and be at First Baptist Church for the test for the Spring.  On Sunday night, I plan to celebrate.  It is always a relief to me too.

Most students have selected one or both of their Spring Festival songs.  That is for April 6th.  Please check that on your calendar now, so you do not plan something else on that day.  Gabriel will play in the Wee Folk Recital  in March.  if you are a Student Affiliate member and in grades 1-3. You can join him.  I have to know by Wednesday at the latest if you want to perform a song.
Trivia:
This Friday is George Washington's birthday.   I was wondering about the music way back in his time.  Due to the most popular religious practices of the day, music was only allowed in very few places.  Can you answer these 3 questions for 3 stars?
Where was music most often heard and allowed?
Who was considered to be the first American composer?
What two instruments did that composer play?

By the way, since I sent the letter about practice records and "attending to the business of piano work", I have had quite a few  people earn their first gift cards.  The updated list will come out  very soon. Thank you.
