By the time we start the final week of April, there is not much evidence of April showers. Sometimes the things we take for granted are not always there. Last week, as I listened to the experiences of students, I thought about that. We all need to be more appreciative for the things in our lives. The Starr test that many of you took gave you anxiety and stress or maybe just annoyance, but at least you can be grateful for those around you who try to help you prepare. The experiences you are having in your lives are all preparations for events you will face. We never really know what will occur in our growing up years that will help us in our future. I hope you thank your parents frequently for all they do to support your desires. Some of them have given up a lot to help you.
On a lighter note, no one said a word about the strange circle in my yard, but I watched as you passed it and looked it over. Well, here is the story. I can't seem to grow grass under my oak trees because of the shade, so I planted monkey grass. I had 10 clumps to plant. I wanted it uniform. I applied my geometry knowledge (from 6th grade). I tied a piece of twine around the trunk of the tree and measured out the distance from the trunk. Then I tied a sharp stick to the other end to make a sort of compass. Next, I drew a circle. Yea! That is the story of my strange grassy circle under the tree.
Reminders: recital is May 24th; summer/fall letters need to be returned; lessons for the spring end on May 23rd; summers lessons begin June 16th.
Practice consistently because I can tell.
